Housing price growth in Australia has become multi-speed in recent months. While growth remains strong in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, prices fell in Sydney and Melbourne in March for the second consecutive month.
That slowing began well before the RBA increased the cash rate in early February and has occurred amid some waning in households’ appetite to buy housing.
